A draggable magnifier that bends light like real glass - every pixel of the refraction computed live in your browser.
- Problem
- "Liquid glass" is everywhere in mockups, but almost nobody ships the real optics - they fake it with a blur behind a static screenshot.
- Approach
- Physically-based refraction with Snell's law, an SVG displacement map and specular highlights generated in-browser from a distance transform I wrote by hand. Zero frameworks, zero image assets.
- Result
- Drag the lens in the frame on the left and it bends whatever's behind it - text, photos, the page itself - at 60fps. Refraction, dispersion, and a Siri-style prism sweep, all tunable live.
